Activities

Mountain Kids - After School, Home School and School Break Programs, Santa Fe, NM 87501. Mountain Kids! NM, founded in 2009, is a non-profit organization specializing in outdoor education and adventure for kids ages 5–17. Mountain Kids! programs take place in the mountains and public spaces around Santa Fe. Children explore, learn, and play, helping them build confidence, resilience, lasting friendships, and a deep love of the natural world. This fall, we’re thrilled to offer After-School, Home School, and School Break Adventure Programs. Fall programs run from September 2 to December 19, 2025. After-School Adventures, for kids ages 5-12, are offered Monday-Thursday from 3:00-6:00 pm and Fridays 12:30-6:00 pm, with school pick-up available for a two-day minimum. Parent drop-off is an option. We offer a 20% discount for families enrolling in all five days. Wildschool, our nature immersion program for homeschool children ages 5–12 is offered one day each week from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm. School Break Camps are available during scheduled breaks. At Mountain Kids! children spend their time exploring local trails, playing nature-based games, learning survival skills, and discovering the wonders of ecology and seasonal changes through tracking, crafting, natural movement, play and storytelling. Children connect deeply with the rhythms of the natural world, enlivening their senses and sparking creativity. Spending time outdoors supports children’s social, emotional, and physical health. At Mountain Kids, children learn teamwork and develop resilience, while having fun, getting messy, and returning home tired and happy. We hope to see your child outside with us this fall! Climbing

The After School program at the Santa Fe Climbing Center creates a stimulating environment in which climbers at all levels will push their physical and mental limits while having fun and exploring the world of indoor rock climbing! The challenges and climbing games led by our experienced instructors promote teamwork, confidence, flexibility, balance, problem solving and more. Our After School programs meet once a week from 3:45-5:15pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, 1:30-3:00 on Friday, and 12:30-2:00pm on Saturday. Our first session starts the week of August 18th.The After School Classes are divided in the following age groups, 5-8 year old and 9 & up climbers and the cost is $160.00 for 8 weeks. 3008 Cielo Court. The Vortex Theatre is offering three Christmas theatre workshops for children aged 5 to 12 in a fun and safe environment. This isn't just a kids’ theatre camp—it’s a festive getaway for the whole family, in their own unique way. While kids revel in theatre games, holiday crafts, and a cozy seasonal movie, parents get their much-needed Intermission for Grown-Ups.
